Woman in her 60s abused by guards at SÖS

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The incident occurred at 07:00 on Wednesday morning when a woman in her 60s was leaving the emergency room at Södersjukhuset in Stockholm after receiving treatment. In connection with this, two guards intervened and a commotion broke out.

According to a witness that TV4 Nyheterna has been in contact with, the woman should not have behaved aggressively or threateningly. The reason for the guards’ intervention must have been that she was smoking in a place where it is prohibited.

– The guards left with the woman and only a couple of minutes later she came back to the emergency room. Then both her upper arms were broken, says the witness.

The police confirm that there has been an incident between a patient and a guard at Södersjukhuset and a report of assault has been drawn up.

According to information, a longer meeting was held at Södersjukhuset where the staff were shocked and angry about the incident.

Södersjukhuset comments on the information.

– We are taking a closer look at this and, of course, take what happened very seriously, says a press spokesperson.

Mats Adman, CEO of the security company Rapid, declines an interview but gives a verbal comment by phone.

– We are starting an internal investigation and then we will see what it shows. They have written a report about the incident and spoke to the supervisor last night but I personally have not been able to speak to them yet. I don’t know if it has been reported to the police.

Will the security guards be allowed to remain on duty?

– I currently have no answer to that. It depends entirely on the report and the internal investigation, which is not yet complete.
