At 18:00 on Wednesday evening, the police were called to Norrköpingsvägen in Finspång after a motorist filled up without paying. Moments later, the same car, which turned out to be stolen, is said to have driven onto the pavement and pinned a woman against a stone wall.
– The woman was put in danger when the car drove onto the pavement because she could not get away, says Johnny Gustavsson, press spokesperson at the police.
The woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital, but was awake and able to speak after the incident, according to the police.
– Additional people must also have been exposed to danger in connection with the car’s progress. It was reckless behavior.
Two people were later arrested, but one was later released. The driver, a man in his 30s, has now been arrested on suspicion of, among other things, aggravated assault or attempted aggravated assault, negligence in traffic, contamination from a traffic accident and drugged driving.
