Chatham man found with suspected fentanyl after arrest

A woman faces weapon and drug charges after a clash at a Chatham home, Chatham-Kent police say.

Officers responding to a disturbance at a Tweedsmuir Avenue home learned that a woman brandished a weapon during a verbal argument, police said. The woman fled before officers arrived.

Police arrested a suspect found in a vehicle a short distance away, police said, and seized suspected fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia after a search.

No weapon was found, police said.

A woman, 32, of no fixed address, is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possessing drugs for trafficking. She was released with a short date.

Man charged with assault

A Chatham resident faces an assault charge after a family dispute, Chatham-Kent police say.

Officers called to a city residence Thursday afternoon learned a man had clashed with his brother and arrested a suspect, police said.

A Chatham man, 42, is charged with assault, He was released with a short date.
