A woman in Falköping has died after being seriously injured by a stabbing weapon on Wednesday night.
After the police fired warning shots, two people were arrested – one of them is now suspected of murder.
At 20.45 in the evening, the police were alerted that ten to twelve people were involved in a riot.
– When the police arrive at the scene, they find the woman who is seriously injured by some form of stabbing weapon, possibly a knife, says the police’s spokesperson Hans-Jörgen Ostler.
The woman was taken to hospital, but just before midnight, the police state that the woman died from her injuries.
Two men were arrested in connection with the place where the woman was found. The identified perpetrator was armed with a knife in connection with the arrest, and one of the police fired a warning shot.
One of them was released later in the evening, not suspected of any crime. The other man is suspected of murder.
– What we can add is that the site is cordoned off, we will investigate it with technicians. We will determine if the place where the woman was found is the crime scene, says Ostler.
