The alarm came shortly after 3pm on Friday afternoon and the woman was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter. The damage was then described as serious and on Saturday morning the police confirmed that the woman had died from her injuries.
The passenger in the same car, a 75-year-old man, also had to be taken to hospital with unclear injuries. A person in the other car was also taken to hospital for a check-up, reports say P4 Gävleborg.
Relatives have been notified.
