“Unusual with violence”

Sofia Lindahlhead of communications at the Swedish Transport Administration, tells SVT that this type of event is very rare.

– It is very unusual to have threats and violence in connection with driving up. In 2023, the Swedish Transport Agency had three incidents that were reported, and that should be compared to the fact that we had over 1.5 million customer meetings, she says.

An earlier case that drew attention occurred in Västerås a few years ago. Then a 70-year-old woman tried to bribe an inspector with a wad of bills after making big mistakes during her driving test. When the inspector interrupted the test and refused the bribe, she chose to report the woman to the police.
