Brantford man reported missing found deceased

Brantford police say a 35-year-old woman from Mitchell, Ont., is charged with assault after a 29-year-old woman was injured in a Colborne Street parking lot at about 2:45 am on June 12.

Police said the victim suffered minor injuries.

Cyclist injured in crash

A 21-year-old Brantford man has been charged after a collision between a cyclist and a motorist at about 7:30 pm on June 12.

Police said the collision was the result of a road rage incident that escalated. The motorist drove away.

The victim, a 56-year-old man, was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

The driver is charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

Woman charged in hit-run

A 40-year-old Brantford woman is facing charges after police were called to a hit-and-run accident at Eagle Avenue and Ontario Street at about 5:15 pm on June 11.

Police said a motorist drove away after colliding with another vehicle.

The motorist was located nearby but failed to stop for police, driving into a retail parking lot on Market Street South. Police said they blocked in the vehicle to prevent injury to nearby pedestrians.

The woman is charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, having a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit, failing to stop after an accident and flight from police.

Her vehicle was impounded and her driver’s license suspended.

A 24-year Scotland man is facing charges after Brantford police got a complaint at about 11 pm on June 7 that a motorist was stalling traffic at Erie Avenue and Cayuga Street.

Police said they found the motorist in a parking lot on Erie Avenue.

The man is charged with operating a vehicle while impaired and having a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit.

His vehicle was impounded and his driver’s license suspended.

Suspicious vehicle call leads to charges

A 50-year-old Paris man is facing charges after Brant OPP responded just before 11 pm on June 9 to a suspicious vehicle complaint on Grand River Street North in Paris.

A citizen called police after seeing a parked vehicle near a business that appeared out of place.

The man is charged with operating a vehicle while impaired and possession of methamphetamine.

A 56-year-old Brantford driver is facing charges after Brant OPP clocked a vehicle at more than 90 km-h on Main Street North in St. George just before 1:30 pm on June 4.

The posted speed limit is 50 km-h.

The driver is charged with speeding in excess of 40 km-h over the speed limit and racing a motor vehicle.

The driver’s vehicle was impounded for 14 days and their license suspended for 30 days.
