On October 23, a woman walked into one of the fast food giant Subway’s restaurants in Georgia, USA. The meal cost around SEK 80. However, the restaurant visit would be significantly more expensive than that.
Then you should NEVER visit McDonald’s – this is why
Ate at Subway – received a shock bill of SEK 73,000
When she went into her bank account a few days after the visit, however, she noticed that the cost of an entire sandwich was over SEK 73,000, something NBC News reported.
– When I looked at the receipt, I just thought: Oh my God! I thought the numbers looked familiar, they were the last six digits of my mobile number. Who drinks that much?, she tells the news channel.
The incident has been an ongoing process for over a month, when the restaurant referred her to the bank to have the amount refunded. After the bank refused the refund, she then approached Subway again who approved the refund, whereupon the bank then gave her a “temporary credit” while waiting for the restaurant to transfer the money.
– You hear about this all the time and that you should use a credit card instead of your bank card so that such things don’t happen. I get mad at the bank, because I think: How can they not think that $7,000 is suspicious to shop for at Subway?
In other words, you have to pay attention when the card is presented, even at fast food restaurants.
