A woman in her 50s is being treated for serious injuries after being assaulted in a stairwell in Norrköping around midnight, something that Norrköpings Tidningar was the first to report on.
– We have spoken to her, but have not been able to carry out any in-depth questioning, says Erik Creutz, officer on duty at the police, to TT.
He adds that the damage is not considered to be life-threatening.
The site has been cordoned off for a technical investigation. No one has been arrested and several circumstances remain unclear, including whether there is any connection between the woman and the perpetrator.
The incident is classified as extremely serious assault.
The police will knock on doors to collect witness information, check surveillance cameras in the area and review whether there is any threat to the woman.
