It was around 8pm on Thursday evening that the police received a call from the public about a driver who was suspected of driving drunk in Avesta. A patrol made contact and stopped the woman, but she drove away.

There, a car chase began which, among other things, resulted in a minor collision on the road where the police officers were about to be hit.

– There is a collision with a post and the patrol steps out to check the damage. Then the driver tries to run over the police. The driver drives towards them and then away from the scene again, says Peter Andersson, officer on duty at the police in Bergslagen.
None of the officers were seriously injured.
– There were some injuries, but there should be no danger, no serious injuries, says Peter Andersson.
Suspect of several crimes
The car chase ended between Fors and Horndal. There, the female driver, who is in her 40s, could be arrested. She was later arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, attempted aggravated assault and gross negligence in traffic.
