The fire ravaged a villa in the Älta municipality, and two people were examined by paramedics after the fire, but did not need to be taken to hospital.
The police on the spot suspected that the fire could be arson, and arrested a woman, who is now suspected of arson. The police have launched an investigation, and are knocking on doors to talk to witnesses to the incident.
– When possible, there will be a technical investigation into the cause of the fire, she says.
Sebastian Levin, officer on duty at Södertörn’s rescue service, says that post-extinguishing work will probably continue throughout the night.
