At 19:00 on Friday evening, the police were called to Årby in Eskilstuna. At a playground, a woman and a child were found injured and taken to hospital.
– It is a woman and a younger child who are injured, confirms police spokesperson Johnny Gustavsson.
The site has been cordoned off for a technical investigation and dog patrols are deployed. The area is being searched for suspected perpetrators.
– We are now collecting witness information and obtaining the special skills we have available, says Johnny Gustavsson.
No arrests
The incident is currently classified as attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences.
The police have a large number of units on site and are searching with drones, among other things. At the same time, they appeal to the public to get in touch with any witnesses.
No one has currently been arrested for the crime.
