Two people were injured in a scooter accident outside Kalix on Tuesday afternoon, according to the police.
The injured are a 35-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy.
Both were taken to hospital with serious injuries and are still being treated there.
According to the police, they were ordered to a location south of Kalix due to a traffic accident involving a snowmobile.
– Information initially emerged that it was a woman and a child. It was probably a man in his 65s who, for an unknown reason, ran over the people. They were not passengers on the snowmobile, Fredrik Nilsson, duty officer in the Norrbotten police region.
The person is not arrested.
– We have written a report. I assume there will be an investigation, but I don’t know the criminal classification at the moment, says Fredrik Nilsson.
– We are working on the basis that this was a pure accident.
The woman and the boy were taken by ambulance to hospital with serious injuries.
