The Portuguese pilot manages Wolves in the English Premier League already on Saturday against Leicester.
The temptations of the Saudi Arabian football league lost to the offer of the club at the tail end of the English Premier League, as Vitor Pereira takes over as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Portuguese Pereira started training for his new team on Thursday and will pilot Wolves against Leicester on Saturday.
Portuguese Pereira, 56, has been a coach winning major league titles in Portugal, Greece and China, but at Wolverhampton his job is to keep the team in the Premier League. Wolves, who are playing a weak season, have won only two of 16 matches and are last in the standings.
Pereira coached the al-Shabab team in Saudi Arabia in the early season. He signed a contract with Wolves until the summer of 2026.
Wolverhampton fired their head coach at the beginning of the season By Gary O’Neil last sunday. The English media anticipated Pereira’s appointment a couple of days ago.
