Wolfgang Pichler’s perfect proposal for the national team after the crisis – which is totally rejected by the stars: “His solution to everything”

Sweden is in crisis in the Biathlon World Cup.
But Wolfgang Pichler’s proposal for how to turn it all around is now being seen.
– It is his solution to everything, says Sebastian Samuelsson.

Sweden won a medal in the Biathlon World Cup’s first competition, the mixed relay, but nothing has happened since then. Sweden has not impressed in the race times, and especially not on the shooting range. The shooting has generally during the WC been deplorable from Sweden, and it became especially clear during the single mixed relay.

Pichler’s proposal

There, Sweden, represented by Sebastian Samuelsson and Hanna Öberg, had the most misses of all teams. There was no medal this time either, and that means that Sweden remains on one medal during the competitions so far. It is a huge contrast to last year’s WC, which was a record breaking eleven medals.

The negative headlines about Sweden have rained during this year’s WC, and zero individual medals was not what anyone had expected. And Wolfgang Pichler, former coach for Sweden, believes he has the solution. He believes that Sweden should gather the entire squad, sit down – and drink beer, to lighten the mood and relax for a while.

“His solution to everything…”

But Sebastian Samuelsson is now fighting back against Pichler’s proposal. He believes that there is no problem with the atmosphere in the team, and that Pichler’s solution would not make any difference.

– A beer is Wolfgang Pichler’s solution to everything. It won’t be beer for me anyway, but it will probably be a good Coke, says Sebastian Samuelsson to SVT.

On Saturday, relays for both the men and women await, before the mass starts conclude the entire WC on Sunday. Samuelsson is now looking forward to a day’s rest, on Friday.

– It will be a quiet day. It’s about backing off and gathering energy. Now there have been two tough competitions and it is clear that it is a mental discharge. Then I will be very busy at the weekend, says Samuelsson.
