It is striking that coalition party Lijst van der Does (LvvD) does not support the plans. Party leader Lenie van Leeuwen thinks fifteen years is too long. She also has doubts whether Woerden should focus on an asylum seekers’ centre, due to the cabinet’s plans to withdraw the dispersal law. If that goes ahead, a shelter for asylum seekers may no longer be necessary.
