Wizz Air profits sharply down debuting in Salerno at the

(Telestock) – Wizz Air to debut at Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport starting from the end of October, promoting the routes to Budapest, Tirana and Bucharest. Flights to Budapest will start on October 28, with three frequencies per week, on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday; those to Tirana, from October 27, will have a bi-weekly frequency, on Wednesday and Sunday; the flight to Bucharest will be active from October 29 and operated with three weekly flights, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

A plan communicated at the same time as the second quarter data which show a sharp drop in profits.

From April to June, Wizz Air’s net profit fell at 1.2 million euros compared to 61.1 million eurosthe same period in 2023. The main negative impact was the grounding of 45 aircraft due to the need to carry out checks on the P&W engines. Revenues, on the other hand, were stable at 1.3 billion euros (+2%).

Based on the results achieved in the second quarter, Wizz Air estimates to achieve a net result of between 350 and 450 million euros at the end of the year, compared to the initial forecast of 500-600 million euros.
