There are hundreds of weapons in Baldur’s Gate 3. Some are very powerful on their own, while others are only used under special circumstances. One such weapon is the Punch-Drunk Bastard. It’s only really fun when you’re drunk.
What is this weapon? This weapon is a large club that you can find in one of the side areas of Act 2. It has a rather weak base damage of 1d8. However, she does have a unique trait called Tippler’s Rage.
Any alcohol you consume just before the fight breaks out will work to get you drunk. The state then lasts for two trains. You can also drink another bottle afterwards in the bonus promotion.
How strong is the weapon? Even while drunk, it doesn’t quite match the powerful Everglow Blade from Act 1, but overall it’s quite usable.
This is how you get the Punch-Drunk Bastard
Where is the gun? You can find the weapon in Act 2 of The Waning Moon. This is a tavern in the city center near Moonrise Towers. In order to get these, however, you must win a drinking contest – a very fun and fitting endeavor.
The weapon is in a back room and if you approach it you will be challenged by a monster. Although you can excuse yourself with very good charisma skills, you will most likely still have to fight.
It’s a good idea to wait a few turns before attacking him and study his characteristics carefully.
Once you’ve won the fight, you can enter the back room by either searching the enemy’s pockets for the key or cracking the door. In addition to the weapon, you will find some useful alchemy components there.
If you don’t just like strange weapons, but builds in general, you should try this assassin villain. It shouldn’t actually work at all, but thanks to the special group compositions it does work:
