An opera to do justice to the Congo: this is the objective of Swiss director Milo Rau. Known for his committed investigations and his documentary theater, the former journalist returns to a tragedy that occurred in 2019 in the Democratic Republic of Congo: the accident of a truck of a Swiss multinational transporting acid to extract metals. Results: around twenty deaths, many injured and polluted land. This traumatic event is told through the libretto by Congolese writer Fiston Mwanza Mujila and the music of Catalan composer Hèctor Parra.
