Wish list is linked to the serious drug crime in Umeå: “Several known addicts”

It was at the beginning of December that the police conducted a house search in one of the men’s apartments at Tomtebo in Umeå and found six kilos of amphetamine.

During Thursday, the trial against the suspected men began – and ended.

The drug market in Västerbotten

  • Here, the suspect records a video greeting – in the prison in Umeå: “I’ll get dressed”

  • The drug trade spreads via encrypted apps – that’s how easily SVT got in touch in Umeå

  • The apartment owner has already tried to convey to one of the co-accused, via a video greeting, that he plans to take over the drug possession. Something he also did during the trial where he pointed out on several occasions that the other men had nothing to do with the amphetamines.

    Got 157,000 kroner swishat

Prosecutor Andreas Nyberg believes that all three were involved and calls for five and a half years in prison for the three suspects. Among the evidence against the men, account histories have been reviewed and so-called wishlists produced.

Two of the men have advertised the narcotics on their mobile phones for SEK 8,500 a hect.

One of the men has received SEK 157,000 in swishat during 2023.

    – It is about hundreds of Swish transactions, several of the people are known in drug circles, says Nyberg.

    “Borrowed a lot of money”

In the preliminary investigation before the trial, the suspect received questions from the police about all transactions.

    – They come from everywhere, then I’ve played quite a bit, he says in questioning.

Police: Explain – I don’t think people swipe you money for no reason?

    – I don’t know, I must have borrowed a lot of money, says the suspect.

The police: This is a total of 196 swish transactions into your account from private individuals in 2023. Can you describe how you generally use swish linked to private individuals?

    – I do not know. It’s hard for me to remember 193 swishes. Then I’ve lived with alcohol and drugs during this time so it’s hard to remember.

The wish lists can lead to more criminal investigations in the future, according to the prosecutor.
