In a future update Windows 11 will integrate a new shortcut allowing to quickly cut the microphone integrated in a PC. Microsoft is indeed testing in an Insider build, a new button integrated in the taskbar, within the hidden icon drawer, to deactivate access to the microphone in one click.
The arrival of this new button, which is also accompanied by a new dedicated Windows keyboard shortcut + Alt + K, provides a direct overview of the microphone status. The icon is indeed displayed in blue when it is active. For now, the button, like the shortcut, is only functional in supported applications.

This is the case for example with Microsoft Teams. Microsoft does not, however, reserve this shortcut for its applications only and has indicated that third-party applications will also be able to use it.
