Windows 11: Microsoft backs off and will make it easier to choose the default browser

Windows 11 Microsoft backs off and will make it easier

Microsoft has just released a new build of Windows 11 for testers of the Windows Insider program. Our German colleagues from the Deskmodder site have detected a new function that allows you to easily choose a browser other than Edge as the default program. It only takes the click of a button, instead of setting the default program for the various protocols and web files.

This function is available in the system settings, by selecting Applications, then Apps and Features and finally the alternative browser. However, it is for the moment only a preliminary version and it will be necessary to wait for the official update to know if it will be present in Windows 11.

Also to discover in video:

If this is the case, Microsoft will have listened to the criticisms of users who accuse it of wanting to highlight its Edge browser too much and of not facilitating the use of other browsers.
