Heavy snowfall and fresh winds are expected to move in over Saturday in northern Sweden.
This can lead to traffic problems such as slipping, poor visibility and snow mud, this warns SMHI.
– There will be a yellow warning for wind in combination with snowfall, says TV4’s meteorologist Lovisa Svanberg.
Early on Friday morning, SMHI issued a weather warning regarding occasional heavy snowfall and fresh winds in northern Sweden, which is expected to begin on Saturday. During the night, the lowest temperature in the country for this season was also measured – in Latnivaara at minus 16.8 degrees.
According to TV4’s meteorologist Lovisa Svanberg, the fronts will already start on Friday, mainly in the southern parts.
– First a lot of clouds and behind that there is some precipitation, she says.
Lovisa Svanberg also announces that during Saturday there is also a gale warning issued in all parts of Sweden.
Yellow weather warning
The heavy snow in the north is expected to start at 08.00 on Saturday, then mainly in Norrbotten county and northern Västerbotten county.
– There will also be a yellow warning for wind in combination with snowfall in the far north where it blows really hard, says Lovisa Svanberg.
SMHI warns that the weather can cause traffic problems such as slippage, slush, poor visibility, snowdrifts, drifts and drifts, as well as limited access on roads.
