A Mexican man has won a lawsuit against the French luxury brand Cartier, the AFP news agency reports.
He thus gets to buy a pair of earrings for the incorrectly stated price of just over SEK 300 – instead of the actual price of over SEK 300,000.
The man found the earrings for sale via Instagram.
“I promise I broke out in a cold sweat,” he says on X about the moment he saw the advertised price.
However, Cartier refused to sell him the jewelry and offered him a full refund, a bottle of champagne and a passport case. Not enough, thought the man who chose to take the company to court.
Now – four months later – he has been proved right.
“The war is over. Cartier has given up,” writes the man on X.
