Wimbledon 2023: match schedule

Wimbledon 2023 match schedule

The Wimbledon tournament will begin on Monday July 3 with defending champions Novak Djokovic and Elena Rybakina opening the ball.

Seven-time Wimbledon winner, seeking an eighth crown in London to equalize Roger Federer and a 24th Grand Slam, Novak Djokovic was fixed on Friday June 30 on his possible course. The Serb will play for his entry into the running Pedro Cachin and could find on his way Huber Hurkacz, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Andrey Rublev, Lorenzo Musetti, Casper Ruud and Jannik Sinner. A confrontation with Carlos Alcaraz is only possible in the final.

The world number 1 has a bit more delicate part, although overall the table seems rather balanced. The Spaniard finds himself with Holger Rune, Daniil Medvedev, Cameron Norrie, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Sebastian Korda, Frances Tiafoe or even Alexander Zverev. In this half of the table, London spectators will also have the opportunity to find Milos Raonic.

Most of the French were spared by this rather favorable draw except for Jérémy Chardy who will inherit as soon as he enters the running, the world number 1, Carlos Alcaraz. As at Roland-Garros, Arthur Fils will play his first match against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. The qualified Laurent Lokoli will present himself in front of Casper Ruud with a few encounters in the legs while the Norwegian has favored rest. There will also be 100% tricolor duels. Benjamin Bonzi and Harold Mayot have an appointment like Alexandre Muller and Arthur Rinderknech. The winner of this match could also challenge the native of El Palmar in the second round.

Iga Swiatek, the world number 1 in girls had a simpler part of the table than the lower part. The opponents are more affordable and the seeds too. To hope to win her first title on British grass, she could face Coco Gauff in the quarter-finals, Jessica Pegula or Caroline Garcia in the semi-finals. The Saint-Germanoise has precisely the free field to try to interfere far into the tournament.

In the lower part, we find experienced players with results on this surface. This is the case of Karolina Pliskova and Aryna Sabalenka who have already reached the last four in England. There is the finalist of Roland-Garros 2023, Karolina Muchova but also the finalist of Wimbledon 2022, Ons Jabeur. Finally Elena Rybakina and Petra Kvitova already victorious in Great Britain complete this picture. The new tricolor Varvara Gracheva for her part was not spoiled by potentially taking the world number 2 in the second round.

Throughout the Wimbledon tournament, we offer you to follow the matches in progress with the evolution of the score in real time. This table only displays fixtures that are currently being played in London.

Which program for Wimbledon?

At Wimbledon, the official program for each day, available on the official website, can sometimes be turned upside down. Indeed, if the schedule for the start of the day is quite clear, it is very difficult to count on the exact time of the end of the matches. The main constraint for the organizers remains the weather where the rain can thwart the holding of the matches. Indeed, two courts (the “Center Court” and court n°1) have a retractable roof that can accommodate matches in the event of “capricious” weather.
