3:46 p.m. – It resumed on court 1

On court number 1, Iga Swiatek resumed her match against China’s Yuan Yue. They are the only two to be on the field, the other matches still being interrupted.

While waiting for the game to resume, we saw Novak Djokovic playing small horses with his loved ones.

15:40 – Moutet has the advantage

In the tricolor confrontation, Corentin Moutet took the advantage against the experienced Richard Gasquet. The French were going to start the second round, but the rain stopped the course of the meeting.

3:34 p.m. – We’re breaking up on the Central

As at Roland-Garros, the Central Court has a roof. The tarp had been installed to protect the lawn. The British staff is however in the process of uncovering the main court. Novak Djokovic and Pedro Cachin will resume play shortly.

15:32 – All games suspended

The rain prompted the organization of Wimbledon to stop all the courts. All matches are suspended.

15:24 – Matches still in progress

Not all matches are interrupted on the courts of Wimbledon. It still plays on the 10 for example or on the 7.

15:22 – Rain comes to Wimbledon

The Central is covered. Other courts are also interrupted due to the rain that has arrived in London.

15:20 – First round Djokovic!

Novak Djokovic started his Wimbledon well by winning the first set of his match 6/3 against Pedro Cachin. The Serb broke at the best of times.

15:19 – The first two sets are for Hurkacz on the 18

Hubert Hurkacz has no difficulty against Albert Ramos Vinolas for the moment. The Pole leads 2 sets to 0 in this first round well within his reach.

15:16 – Gusts of wind in London

We see all the players taking more security on the London courts. The trajectories deviate due to a fairly strong wind.

15:13 – Swiatek break in the 2nd set

Iga Swiatek had a little more trouble recovering his opponent’s serve. It is now something to do for the Polish who has been playing for a little over an hour (3/2).

15:11 – Djokovic gauges himself

Facing Pedro Cachin, Novak Djokovic tests himself. He does not rush against the Argentinian who remains in the race in this first set. 4/3 for the Serbian.

15:09 – The French Couacaud and Lestienne enter the track in turn

Coming from the qualifications, Enzo Couacaud fell in the draw on the atypical Jeffrey John Wolf. Constant Lestienne is also on the London courts against local Liam Broady. Veteran John Isner challenges Jaime Munar.

15:08 – Garcia in a strong position?

Caroline Garcia won the first set 6/4 by dominating Katie Volynets. In the second round, the Saint-Germanoise was already led 3/0.

15:04 – Auger-Aliassime and Goffin on the pitch

Felix Auger-Aliassime, eliminated in the first round of Wimbledon in 2022, made his debut against Michael Mmoh who replaced Filip Krajinovic, who was absent at the last minute. David Goffin finds himself in the same position as the Canadian by facing an opponent called “lucky loser”, drafted in other words. The Belgian is therefore playing against one of Carlos Alcaraz’s only scorers this season, the Hungarian Fabian Marozsan.

Which program for Wimbledon?

At Wimbledon, the official program for each day, available on the official website, can sometimes be turned upside down. Indeed, if the schedule for the start of the day is quite clear, it is very difficult to count on the exact time of the end of the matches. The main constraint for the organizers remains the weather where the rain can thwart the holding of the matches. Indeed, two courts (the “Center Court” and court n°1) have a retractable roof that can accommodate matches in the event of “capricious” weather.
