In the provincial elections on March 15, De Boer was the first woman on the PvdA list, right behind party leader Hans Adriani. The party now has three seats in the States. De Boer’s portfolio includes agriculture and energy transition. At her farewell in Eemnes, PvdA party leader Marcus van den Brink said that as a former alderman it was sometimes uncomfortable for her to sit on the council again. “If you know the hat and the brim, it’s hard to stay on your hands.”
