Six hundred years ago, Ridderhofstad Schalkwijk was here where lords of the castle lived who played a major role nationally. On the old castle grounds, only the canals remain and the garden has been restored. Willy Kruijssen from Schalkwijk has been captivated by the castle and its history for four years now. Today, on Castle Day, he gives guided tours and tells about the castle that once stood there.
