William Poromaa’s harsh criticism of rival Norway – after the big problems: “Of course it’s bad”

There is a storm in the Norwegian Skiing Association.
Then William Poromaa is not shy about the criticism
.
– There are nations that work much harder, he says.

The Norwegian Skiing Association is not having it easy at the moment. Recently, the association’s long distance manager resigned Espen Bjervig due to lack of motivation. At the same time, they deal with the big star Johannes Hösflot Kläbo still do not have a national team contract with two months left until the World Cup, and that Kristine Stavå’s Ski City chose to stand outside the national team.

“Boring”

On top of that, the association has major financial problems and can barely get the budget together. Sad, I think William Poromaa22.
– It’s sad, of course, if the economy is bad. It is clear that it is bad if it goes in the wrong direction. We need to develop and want the sport to move forward, going backwards is never good, he says during a press conference.

If the Norwegians, despite the chaos, will be able to deliver next season, there is no question, however, says the Åsarna IK skater.
– There will definitely be fast Norwegians this year too, so there is no point in thinking about whether they will be fast or not, they will be. And it’s just a matter of training and preparing to beat them, even if they’re at their best, says Poromaa.

Poromaa’s harsh criticism

Among several Norwegian media, there is great concern about the association and its financial difficulties. But Poromaa thinks they should realize their position in the skiing world.
– I think that there you can probably open your eyes a little and see how all the other nations are doing too. After all, there are those who have it even harder than Norway, so it would be a little wrong to sit and say that you have a really tough time when there are nations that struggle much harder.

The 22-year-old clarifies that he does not mean that the Norwegians do not have the right to complain.
I just mean that you probably have to be a little humble as well and see that there are other nations that have it incredibly much tougher than they do. Then I am aware that you don’t want to back down and that together we want to drive the sport forward. But you might get to see a bit of the whole as well.
