William Poromaa’s great tribute to Alvar Myhlback – now he wants to see the great promise in the World Cup: “Sick, sick good”

Alvar Myhlback has impressed on roller skis this summer.
But William Poromaa is unsure how the skiing talent’s results translate onto the snow.
– You never know how things will go, says Poromaa to Sportbibeln.

17 year olds Alvar Myhlback is one of Sweden’s greatest skiing talents. Norwegian Peter Northug has even described the Swede as one of the greatest talents he has ever seen. Last winter, the then 16-year-old Myhlback came eighth in the Vasaloppet.

Tributes to Myhlback

During the summer, the 17-year-old participated in several competitions in roller skis, and impressed. Myhlback won, among other things, the Alliansloppet of 15 kilometers in Trollhättan. He also became the best Swede in the long run during Toppidrettsveka in Trondheim with a sixth place. He drove in two seconds behind the winner Amund Riege and one second ahead of last year’s overall World Cup winner Johannes Hösflot Kläbo.

Another Swede who was on the starting line in Trondheim was William Poromaa22, who praises Myhlback greatly.
– I saw the races here at Toppidrettsveka and it was very good. He’s really, really good, and I know that Alvar has taken steps before and you’re happy about that as much as you can, he says to Sportbibeln.

Poromaa’s prediction

Poromaa is happy that Swedish skiing is showing good regrowth.
– That is what we want, for new Swedes to come. So crazy fun and I hope he holds up well so that he goes fast already in the winter, that would be really nice I think

When Myhlback can be ready for the World Cup, the 22-year-old has a harder time answering, but Poromaa knows what he himself thinks.
– If you see the results he has achieved this summer, he could be ready already for the winter, but maybe it’s different when it’s skiing, and you never know how things will go. But I hope as soon as possible of course.
