William Poromaa won his first championship medal in Planica, Slovenia when it was a bronze medal in the five mile. When the 22-year-old is now charging for his first season without a championship, the focus is on the overall World Cup and perhaps not least the distance cup where he sees his chances as best.
– I haven’t taken a World Cup victory and I’m aiming for it. I feel confident in continuing to work hard and wanting to develop all the time, he says.
“Will be an important thing going forward”
With several podium places behind him, only third places, he wants to take the next step.
He sees a large high-altitude investment during the pre-season as a large part of the development. Another key to taking further steps, he believes, lies in being well prepared for the competitions.
– I learned a lot last year, to really decide before where and when it will be decided at the competitions, to be even more on the cutting edge. It will be an important thing for me going forward. Being careful to analyze, for example, the endings of the competitions and that bit. It’s one thing I think I have to get even better at, he says.
