The data from a former fencer shakes up Norwegian skiing.
Now William Poromaa breaks the silence – and roars.
– It is terrible behaviour, he says.
On the women’s side, after Therese Johaug ended her career, Norway has usually been defeated by Sweden. For a long time Norway was the big dominant, but in the WC last year it was almost always Swedish at the top of the podium. But on the men’s side, it has looked the same for quite some time now.
The scandal in Norway
Norway has the world’s best skater in the form of Johannes Hösflot Kläbo, and also almost a dozen skaters behind him who can all fight for medals at major championships. But despite the success continuing to rain in for the Norwegian national skiing team, there are clouds of worry. Recently, there was, to say the least, troubling information from a dismissed whaler, which is now shaking Norwegian skiing to its foundations.
Vallaren, whose name is Frode Pedersen, has told that there is bullying and harassment within the national team, and he has appealed for a change. Today he is a coach on his own, but for Norwegian VG he has told, among other things, that there were times when pure sabotage took place. Among other things, during the last WC, when Johanna’s Hösflot Kläbo allegedly had their skis sabotaged, when it “looked like someone had gone on gravel with them”.

“A terrible behavior”
Now William Poromaa breaks the silence about the scandal in Norway – and he roars against the information.
– I have full confidence in our electoral lads and I have never even thought that anyone could do that. It’s actually horrible behavior. It’s very strange, he tells Aftonbladet.
William Poromaa has no worries whatsoever that sabotage will occur from the Swedish riding team, and that the cooperation between skiers and riders is good and close.
– I don’t think so and I hope not. I know that our breeders work incredibly hard to ensure that we have the best skis possible. I don’t think they ids go in gravel with the skis actually.
