The municipality has claimed that the law does not allow subsidies for things to do with lifts and that the home was therefore considered unsuitable, despite the fact that subsidies were granted for, among other things, height-adjustable kitchen cabinets in William Österberg Berglund’s condominium which he moved to in January 2021.
Two appeals
William Österberg Berglund took the fight and appealed to the Administrative Court, which ruled in favor of the municipality.

The municipality promises change
Daniel Olsson (S), chairman of the community building committee in Gävle, says that William Österberg Berglund will have his door opener and welcomes the Court of Appeal’s ruling even though it goes against the municipality’s line.
