In a televised interview on Sunday, the former attorney general defended the special prosecutor’s 37-count indictment. If it is true, as the indictment shows, that Trump deliberately seized hundreds of classified documents, the former president is “smoked”, according to Barr.

The statement from Barr, who was Trump’s attorney general from February 2019 to December 2020, comes at a time when several prominent Republicans have been hesitant to criticize the former president.
In an interview with Politico, Donald Trump himself has announced that he does not intend to stop campaigning before the upcoming presidential election. On the contrary, according to his own statement, he will continue even if he were to be sentenced to prison.
