Golf’s European Tour competition to be held in Siunti on Saturday 1.7. from 12:50 on TV2 and Areena.

The women’s golf European Tour competition will be played in Siuntion Pickala this coming weekend. Compared to the other races of the tournament, Pickala has its own specialty.

The field is exceptionally long, more than 6,000 meters. According to Finnish golfers, the course does not feel particularly long when playing.

Tiia Koivisto says that the length of the field is of the category of Major tournaments.

– Even though it looks really long on paper, in reality it hasn’t felt that way on the field. When the conditions are favorable and the field is a little dry, the ball flies well, says Koivisto.

Usually very successful in domestic competitions Ursula Wikström is on the same lines.

– That’s not a monster long one. It’s a really good competition field, says Wikström, who believes that the field suits him perfectly.

No exact point for the end of the career

The 42-year-old Wikström has been second three times in the European Tour competitions played in Finland. His most recent second place was two years ago in Turku.

The home games are a special event for him.

– It’s quite a bit extra nice and wonderful. There are close people and all other acquaintances there. In general, you can be proud of your home race.

The current season has been challenging for Konkar.

– It’s been quite a roller coaster ride. He hasn’t really gotten anything out of himself. It has been fluctuating, Wikström acknowledges.

Wikström has already played professionally for 20 seasons. Regarding the future, he has not set any exact fixed points.

– There is no such thing as playing this season and then stopping. You never know. As long as it works and my body is good, I don’t see why I shouldn’t play.

The prize money of the tournament is 300,000 euros. It is exceptionally large in Finnish terms.

– We are still short of the men’s prize money, but it is a good thing that these are constantly moving forward, says Koivisto.

And what will be the winning result of the weekend’s tournament?

Noora Komulainen the result was even -15.

– I don’t think there will be such a strong result. I would say -9, Koivisto throws.
