Will the horror ever end? One of the most successful horror series continues with part 11

Will the horror ever end One of the most successful

With grosses of over $1.1 billion, the Saw series is one of the most successful horror franchises of all time. Just last week, the 10th part of Saw X finally opened in German cinemas with little delay. And it is already clear: the game continues. Saw XI has been officially announced.

The 11th part of the horror saga is coming – and there are already indications of a return in Saw XI

Saw X took a new approach. Instead of continuing the previous chronology, the new film was set in time between the original and Saw II, bringing back the already dead characters John Kramer (Tobin Bell) and Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith).

The realignment, which was celebrated by fans and critics, saved the horror series from the crisis and secured another sequel, which the studio Lionsgate has now confirmed on Instagram.

Nothing is known yet about the plot or the cast in front of and behind the camera. After the success of Saw

Warning, spoilers for Saw X: If the next Saw film takes place in the past again, it could not only see reunions with other former franchise characters such as Detective Hoffman, John’s ex-wife Jill Tuck and even Dr. Lawrence Gordon, but also with Jigsaw’s opponent Cecilia Pedersen (Synnøve Macody Lund).

In the bonus material of the home theater version of Saw Saw X left the fate of John Kramer’s newest test subject open at the end. However, a deleted scene reveals that the fraudster, who exploited people with cancer with false hope, was able to escape her final test.

Saw XI could easily follow on from the events of Saw X. Because Cecilia Pedersen seemed anything but grateful for her involuntary participation in Jigsaw’s latest game. Will she seek revenge on John and Amanda? Or is their “game” not over yet? We don’t have to wait long for answers.

When is Saw XI coming to cinemas?

Between 2004 and 2010, a new chapter of the horror saga was published every year. Fans had to wait several years for each of the following sequels. Now the Saw franchise is getting back to old habits.

Saw XI starts in the USA on September 27, 2024 in cinemas – and will therefore be released just in time for the 20th anniversary of the horror series.
