With Tampere’s baseball pride, Manse PP aims for a Finnish championship for both men and women. The club director believes the new stadium will be up for the 100-year-old East-West event.
Manse PP rumbled to the top of the baseball. The club was undoubtedly the colorist of last season. The men of Manse PP rose to their Super Nests for the 2020 season. Last autumn culminated in the first Finnish championship in the history of Manse PP men in Tampere.
Before last season, Manse PP was in the player market swing, acquiring a men’s team Tuomas Jussilan, Juha Puhtimäki and Henri Puputineach of whom had been selected as the baseball player of the year throughout his career.
The biggest changes for the club for the 2022 season are not about lineups, but conditions. However, it is not ready yet.

The estimated cost of the sports park project rose to nearly 14 million
A lavish baseball stadium is currently being built in Kauppi Sports Park, with more than 2,500 covered spectator seats. The stadium also functions as a ski stadium, so the stands will be utilized next winter at the Finnish Championships.

According to the City of Tampere, the cost estimate for the new buildings in the baseball / ski stadium in Kauppi Sports Park is 8.16 million, and the remaining costs will accrue from the service building, the football auditorium and the renovation of the parking area.
The main reason for the increase in costs was the price of the baseball stand, when prefabricated prefabricated stands were not available in the required size. Project architect of the city of Tampere Arto Huovila told Aamulehti that in the preliminary cost estimate, the auditorium building had not yet been planned, but the costs were estimated solely on the basis of the number of seats.
A temporary solution to the toilet problem
said in January that due to the high level of costs, the construction of ancillary facilities planned in connection with the auditorium has been abandoned. Fixed changing rooms with toilets and washrooms and storage facilities remained to be built later.

Decisions on temporary solutions have been made, now says the chairman of the club, Savilahti.
– First, the disadvantage was the Korona affairs, then the unfortunate war in Ukraine. For schedule reasons, the city decided not to start building warm facilities on this schedule. Toilets and other warm facilities will be made over the next two years. They have been solved with rentable, mobile premises, ie toilet containers and others that come there. We had to adjust, but it was the only option on this schedule, says Savilahti.
The presidency promises to prepare for the 100th anniversary
That, too, has sparked a debate over whether the current work could be completed before July. The new stadium is set to play the East-West event of the 100th anniversary of baseball on 9-10. July.

Chairman Savilahti says that he has discussed the schedule with the city and the developer, and assures that it will be ready by July. According to the match schedule, the teams of Manse PP will play a total of five home matches in Kauppi in the beginning of July before the East-West event.
The season starts with a road trip, in the end only gold is valid
Before Manse PP reaches its renovated home base in July, it will play all over Finland at the beginning of the season. Men start the season with five, women with six away matches.
The team then takes their home games to various parts of Finland in a road trip type. For example, on June 12, Mansen’s men and women will play in Vaasa. Next Saturday, the club will bring its home match to Helsinki, to the Meilahti baseball stadium, where the East-West match has been played 12 times.
For this season, Mansen’s men’s team hasn’t changed as much as it did a year ago.
