Will send home all movers

Yesterday he criticized Erdogan’s refugee policy. Today he agrees.
The tone of the Turkish opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu has changed considerably.
– I intend to send all refugees home when I am elected president. Full stop, he says a statement.

Opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu is Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s main opponent in the Turkish election, which now has a second round on May 28.

In Sunday’s election, the opposition leader finished five percentage points under Erdogan, the opposition’s best result in two decades. But it wasn’t enough all the way.

Now Kilicdaroglu is doing everything to try to win over Turkey’s right-wing voters and seize the presidency, according to AFP.

“Sends every single one home”

On Thursday, the opposition leader made a major change in tone. From disagreeing with Erdogan’s more conservative refugee policy, to suddenly agreeing completely – and then some.

“Erdogan, you have not protected the country’s borders and our honor,” he said during Thursday’s statement.

“You have deliberately brought more than 10 million refugees into the country… as soon as I come to power I will send every single one home”.

The move is suspected to be an outstretched hand to the far-right presidential candidate Sinan Ogan, who received 5.2 percent of the vote on Sunday. He has yet to say which of the remaining candidates he will support, but he has previously said he only supports one candidate who tightens refugee policies and fights “terrorism,” a Turkish code word for Kurdish militants.
