Released in 2019, Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker not only completed the sequel trilogy, but also served as Completion of the entire Skywalker saga. In the epic finale, Rey takes on the great villain who orchestrated the invasion of Naboo and the subsequent fall of the Republic.
At the end of The Rise of Skywalker, it looks like good has triumphed over evil. Nevertheless, many fans ask the question how the story goes on? Will we see Star Wars 10 in the future? And could this film be the start of a new trilogy that will continue with Episode 11 and Episode 12?
Are Star Wars 10, 11 and 12 coming with Rey and Finn?
In the past there was many rumors in this direction, from Daisy Ridley’s return as Rey to a spin-off series starring John Boyega that chronicles Finn’s adventures. There have also been reports of a spin-off starring Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren or Ben Solo.
However, it has been officially announced so far no continuation of the sequel trilogy. Instead, Lucasfilm is focusing on other film projects from the Star Wars universe. Below is the full list.

Rogue Squadron: Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins’ Star Wars film was originally announced for December 2023. Recently, Jenkins’ busy schedule and reports of creative differences over the direction of the project have cast doubt on the film’s ability to hit theaters on time.
A Droid Story: This is an animated film produced exclusively for the Disney+ streaming service. The story tells a new Star Wars adventure starring R2-D2 and C-3PO. Expect Anthony Daniels to return as the golden protocol droid.
The Star Wars Trilogy by Rian Johnson: Even before the theatrical release of Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi, Lucasfilm announced a trilogy that should introduce us to completely new characters and locations in the galaxy far, far away. The project has not yet been officially discontinued, but it does not appear to be actively under development.
A Star Wars film by Taika Waititi: After directing The Mandalorian Season 1 finale, Thor 3 director Taika Waititi has been tasked with directing a new Star Wars film. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Oscar-nominated Krysty Wilson-Cairns (1917, Last Night in Soho).
A Star Wars film by Kevin Feige: Marvel boss Kevin Feige is involved as a producer in a Star Wars film being written by Loki creator Michael Waldron. As with Waititi, there’s no concrete roadmap as to when and how the project might arrive in theaters (or on Disney+).
A Star Wars film by JD Dillard: With JD Dillard’s Star Wars film, too, there are more question marks than solid information. In February 2020, the project, which Dillard is set to write alongside Luke Cage veteran Matt Owens, first surfaced. Not much has been heard of it since then.
A Star Wars film by Damon Lindelof: The youngest film on this list is said to be directed by Damon Lindelof. The screenwriter has made a name for himself through the series Lost and The Leftovers and was also in charge of the Alien film Prometheus. So far there are only rumors about it.The future of Star Wars in cinemas is more uncertain than it has been for a long time. In the series sector, Lucasfilm is all the better positioned for this.

Andor: The spin-off series predates Rogue One and follows the story of Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor. Series start is still this year.
Ahsoka: After appearing in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, Rosario Dawson will begin her own Star Wars series as Ahsoka Tano in 2023.
Lando: Dear White People creator Justin Simien is developing a series centered around Lando Calrissian, which is expected to arrive on Disney+ in 2023.
The Acolytes: Matryoshka co-creator Leslye Headland’s series is set in the dying days of the High Republic and could also come in 2023.
skeleton crew: Inspired by 1980s Amblin films, the series follows four lost children. Jude Law plays the main role.
Tales of the Jedi: The animated anthology series tells about different Jedi. The first season focuses on Count Dooku and Ahsoka Tano, among others.
Young Jedi Adventures: This is a children’s series that tells of exciting Jedi adventures in animated form.In addition, we can look forward to Season 2 of The Bad Batch, Season 2 of Star Wars: Visions, and Season 3 of The Mandalorian. Whether Boba Fett’s book will be continued is not yet certain. What we shouldn’t count on anymore is Rangers of the New Republic. The Mando offshoot was put on hold by Lucasfilm.
