British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has landed in Kyiv.

According to a statement from the British government, he and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are to sign a “100-year cooperation agreement” covering a number of areas, including defence, research, energy and trade.

– This is not just about the here and now, it is also about an investment in our two countries for the next century, bringing together technological development, scientific progress and cultural exchange, leveraging the phenomenal innovation that Ukraine has demonstrated in recent years for generations to come , Keir Starmer said before the trip.

The trip is the Briton’s first to Ukraine since he took office as Prime Minister last summer. He was there in 2023 as opposition leader, and has met Zelensky twice in London since becoming prime minister.
