We are talking about the heat pump, which is one of the curious equipment for the Togg T10X, which is counting the days to go out on the streets.
The pre-order process continues for the T10X, which is preparing to hit the streets as the first model of the domestic automobile startup Togg. After the pre-orders, which started on March 17 and will continue until March 27, the vehicles will be delivered to their first owners with the gradual draw process. The brand, which is preparing to make the first deliveries as of the end of March, has also made the technical specifications and versions for its first model official as of March 14. For the Togg T10X, which can be preferred with two different infrastructure combinations, only a single electric motor and short-long range, a feature in the hardware lists has attracted the attention of enthusiasts. This equipment, which comes to the fore in social media from time to time and has a significant effect on the range of electric vehicles, is the heat pump.
Heat pump for Togg T10X will not be listed
T10X, whose range value has changed as 314 kilometers and 523 kilometers in WLTP standards over the announced versions, can respond to different needs and expectations in this context. When we examine the equipment list of the vehicle in detail, we do not see the heat pump, which is one of the components of the air conditioning system. We had a meeting with the engineer team regarding this issue at the Gemlik Factory opening held on 29 October. We were informed that heat pump equipment was not planned for the T10X, whose name was not yet known at that time. With the last picture on the table and the latest information we received, we can clearly say that no version of the family will offer a heat pump.
Heat pump in electric cars
Electric car models differ from the traditional internal combustion cars we are used to in many different ways. Here, together with the engine system, the heating system is among the elements that have separate paths. As we know, the engine temperature in traditional models cannot be provided at the desired level in electric cars. For this, the need for electric vehicles without heat pumps is made by using additional energy from the battery. Considering the range performance of heat pump electric vehicles, this range loss is much less.
We know that many cars on sale today do not have a heat pump. This equipment, which is not offered in the base versions of some models, is integrated into the vehicle with the upper packages. In some, it is sold directly as an option. Lastly, the Peugeot e-208, which was recently facelifted, received heat pump support with this operation. It is stated that the heat pump system added to the product range for Model 3, one of Tesla’s entry-level members, is three times more efficient than the PTC type system used in previous versions. For the T10X, which draws attention to WLTP range values without a heat pump, real-world range performance will be shown by the tests to be carried out.

Manufacturers want to reduce range effects with comfort elements
It is vitally important for users that heating functions, especially the heat pump, are offered as standard in vehicles, especially in regions with heavy winter conditions. As a matter of fact, users try to offer equipment such as seat and steering wheel heating as standard as possible in order to minimize the use of the air conditioning function. In addition to these, heating function studies are on the agenda for some interior panels.
For example, in a study shared by Ford recently, it was stated that using surfaces such as heated armrests can have a positive effect on the range up to 13 percent. ZF, one of the important manufacturers in Germany, explains that up to 15 percent improvement in the range of electric vehicles can be achieved with the heated seat belt project.
