There is a slight chance of rain in the weather forecast for next weekend. The rain would ease the drought and prevent wildfires.
In the Los Angeles area of California, the fire brigades have extinguished several small wildfires during the day, reports Los Angeles Times Magazine.
The US National Weather Service has issued a warning of “exceptionally wet conditions” as the terrain is extremely dry and the wind is picking up. The risk of an extensive wildfire is high from even the smallest spark.
For this day, the wind speed is predicted to rise in gusts to over 30 m/s on the coast and up to 44 m/s in the mountains.
