Wild shooting at train station – 16-year-old sentenced

It was in April that the then 15-year-old boy, armed and masked, began shooting wildly at a 23-year-old man who fled from a commuter train and into the crowd on the platform, reports Norrköping’s newspapers.

The incident occurred in the middle of rush hour on a weekday, and the 23-year-old man allegedly tried to use a young woman as a human shield, among other things – but despite this, no one was injured. The two people later fled in different directions.

The district court notes that the boy, who is a native of Östergötland, showed “complete indifference” to the risks of his actions. The boy must also pay damages of SEK 210,000 to the woman, who is one of the three who, according to the district court, were subjected to attempted murder.
