Wild Planet birth of 2 baby dolphins

Planète Sauvage is a zoo with many areas to represent different ecosystems. For the 2023 season, visitors will be able to meet two baby dolphins.

THE Planète Sauvage zoo is located in Port-Saint-Père, 15 minutes from Nantes. Its visitors can discover no less than 1100 animals of 120 different species! They are divided into six different universes, which families can visit on foot and by car. The 2023 season, launched on Saturday February 11, is marked by the birth of two baby dolphins.

Two baby dolphins born at Planète Sauvage

In 2023, children will be able to discover the new inhabitants of the Marine City: two baby dolphins who were born a few months ago! Pili is a female, born on September 18, 2022. Her mother is Parel, and she has two brothers: Numa and Kuma. Very curious, she likes to explore the whole basin. As for Yaqu, he is the son of Lucille, the oldest female in the park. Born on October 4, 2022, he likes to stay close to his mother. His first name was chosen to refer to the Yaqu Pacha association, supported by Planète Sauvage, which defends cetaceans in their natural environment.

An encounter with the dolphins

Wild Planet offers children and adults the opportunity to live new experiences. Activities are also organized such as a dolphin encounter, ideal for better understanding this marine mammal and discovering the profession of trainer. You will start with a dolphin watching and their behavior in water. Then, go to the surface, at the edge of the pools, for a learning session organized just for you! During this session, you will be able to learn more about the behavior and life of dolphins in groups, as well as the relationship between the keepers and the animals. Finally, it will be time for you to challenge the dolphins, and ask all the questions you want to the keepers. You can also live an extraordinary experience by becoming caretaker for a day (7-12 years old)! Help prepare and distribute animal meals, discover behind the scenes at the zoo !

What are the 6 universes of Planète Sauvage?

Six universes have been created in this animal park: each of them is an invitation to travel for children and adults. The first of these is the safari track, which is carried out with your car or aboard a 4×4 driven by a park guide: guaranteed emotions when coming face-to-face with lions or rhinos! The Jungle Temple allows you to meet macaques, while the Bush Path promises an immersion in Africa and the discovery of animals such as reptiles, meerkats and cranes. Marine animal lovers will be delighted to go to the Marine City to admire the dolphins where scientific research is carried out. Direction then and the Inca Trail and the Territory of the Fauves.

Lodges: what animals can you sleep with at Planète Sauvage?

You can stay within the grounds of the park by choosing your favorite place between the bivouac in Tanzania and the bivouac in Mongolia and in sleeping among animals. It all starts with a privileged guided tour of the park in a 4X4. You will even have the opportunity to observe the animals, with the keepers, when they enter their lodges. Then, you will be taken to the site of your bivouac. If you have opted for a bivouac in Tanzania, you will spend the night in an African savannah atmosphere, surrounded by animals such as wildebeest, antelopes, or zebras. If you have opted for the bivouac in Mongolia, you will then sleep in a yurt, after an introduction to typical Mongolian cuisine. Around you, you can see yaks, deer, axis and more. In the Lodges, you can admire the permanent spectacle of the zoo’s fauna which evolves naturally. There are several: Lions Lodges, Tigers Lodges, Savannah Lodges and Cheetah Lodges.
