The depression is also called a ‘Fauna Exit Place’ and was constructed by the De Stichtse Rijnlanden Water Board. At the place where the depression is made, deer, badgers, wild boars, foxes, rabbits and waterfowl chicks often cross. Due to the high bank, the animals sometimes got into trouble because they could not get out of the water.
