Why you always have to leave the glove box open

This tip which consists in leaving the glove box open when you park your car deserves to be known.

In a car, the glove box has the same function for everyone. This valve compartment, located opposite the front passenger, offers a small storage space. You can store some essential papers (gray card, insurance, observation, vehicle manual …) and a whole bunch of small things that you want to keep at hand. Pairs of sunglasses, wallet, smartphone chargers, pens, handkerchiefs, hydroalcoholic gel … Some car models even have a refrigerated function to keep the drinks cold.

What people know less is that it is strongly advised to open the glove box of your vehicle when picking it up. Would this small compartment nestled in the dashboard be full of electronic sensors to succeed in perfect slots? Many would like but no, the glove box is not intended to assist the driver. On the other hand, leaving it open before parking your car, whether along a sidewalk or in a parking lot, is an ingenious idea that can make it possible to spare many problems.

The glove box of a vehicle has always stained the curiosity of thieves. Many small thugs that prowl around cars do not seek to leave with but only to fly what is inside. During a break -in, the first thing that the criminal is to open the glove box. The police thus advise never to leave valuables in this storage space. But that, the thief who is about to break the window of your car does not know as long as the glove box remains closed.

Hence the interest in leaving it open! Obviously taking care to empty it with everything that could attract the eye of criminals, your glove box will no longer be the object of all fantasies. If the thief sees that your compartment contains nothing attractive – or even better that he is completely empty – he will understand that he has no interest in robbing your car and will go on his way to find his loot elsewhere.
