Before the release of Doctor Strange 2, the highly anticipated movie of the Marvel cinematic universe, various theories were circulating. So why wasn’t Tom Cruise in Doctor Strange 2?
Doctor Strange 2, which was released after years of theory and anticipation, made a very good start at the box office. The production, which is generally liked by the fans of the series, has already grossed $ 451 million worldwide. With this gross, it managed to become the third highest-grossing film of 2022. Multiverses began with the movie Spiderman: No Way Home. Therefore, Doctor Strange 2 became a movie that everyone could appear in. This led to the emergence of various rumors among the fans. One of the rumors was that Tom Cruise would appear with a Tony Stark variant. But Tom Cruise wasn’t in Doctor Strange.
Michael Wardon says he’s intrigued by the theory
Micheal Waldron, the screenwriter of Doctor Strange 2, recently made an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. In the interview, the theory of Tom Cruise’s variant of Tony Stark was voiced. Wardon: “Yeah, nothing like that was written. It is a complete fabrication,” he said. However, Wardon also expressed that he was intrigued and interested when he heard this theory.
Wardon: “I mean Tom Cruise doesn’t have any cutscenes, but I like Tom Cruise. I went to Marvel Studios and found Kevin Feige and asked him if we could bring Tom Cruise into the movie as Iron Man. “Of course, it never reached Tom Cruise, I guess it’s because he wasn’t available.”
As it is known, Cruise is currently involved in the shooting of the last two films of the Mission Impossible series. At the same time, Tom Cruise has not played any superhero roles to date. Considering this, it is confirmed that this is a rumor that is not from official sources.
