Why Fivoor’s move from Den Dolder is delayed: ‘Municipalities prefer not to see us come’

Why Fivoors move from Den Dolder is delayed Municipalities prefer

Fivoor treats and supports people with a psychiatric disorder who pose a danger to themselves or to society. There are also people who need so-called high intensive care. The patients come to Fivoor through, for example, the judiciary or other healthcare institutions.

The forensic clinics are located on the Altrecht site in Den Dolder. It was decided years ago that the clinics would leave and that the site would be sold. This has already partly happened and there are housing plans from the new owner BPD. The site must be empty by 1 January 2027, but owner Altrecht has informed the municipality of Zeist, which includes Den Dolder, that it will not meet that date.

And that has to do with Fivoor because a new location for the clinics has not yet been found. In the meantime, Altrecht reports that they are in constructive consultation with the new owner BPD. “A final date of delivery of the site is part of this conversation,” Altrecht said.
