Why do women play sports in panties?
I’ve had to think about it myself, the moukarin thrower admits Silja Kosonen and hurdler Viivi Lehikoinen.
The question that concerned many athletics viewers was part of Urheilu’s Taia et kettaa ask! -story series, in which athletes are asked questions that they wouldn’t otherwise dare to ask.
In athletics, the vast majority of women compete in an outfit whose lower part resembles panties. Women are less often seen wearing the lower part of the competition outfit, which resembles shorts.
– For me, it’s probably a matter of appearance. I think they look better, Lehikoinen reflects.
Some of the athletes say directly that it is better to play sports in “shorts”.
– Feels light and airy, triple jumper Senni Salminen says.
– They are the least in the way, triple jumper Kristiina Mäkelä continue.
– At least they don’t weigh terribly and it’s really good to move in them, high jumper Ella Junnila says.
Fresh pole vault European champion Wilma Murto can’t say what kind of benefit you get from the lighter lower part concretely.
– Probably some aerodynamic thing.
The video, which is the main image of this story, also provides a male perspective on the subject.
– I don’t know why men don’t play sports in panties, javelin thrower Lassi Etelätalo grin.
