The first channel broadcasts season 5 every Wednesday, starting August 31, 2022, at 9:10 p.m. Doctor Claire Brown is however absent from this new round of episodes. His character has indeed left St. Bonaventure Hospital to go to Guatemala. This decision follows actress Antonia Thomas’s desire to leave The Good Doctor before season 5.
The actress had indeed announced that she wanted to “explore new creative opportunities” and give a turning point to her career. However, she does not leave the series definitively, since her character will return, for two episodes, to the heart of the plot of The Good Doctor. It is however an exceptional return of the actress and the character, present to support Shaun (Freddie Highmore). The actress had never closed the door to a one-time return to the series, provided that it is not recurrent.

The Good Doctor, also called “Good Doctor”, is an American medical and drama series created by David Shore (Dr House) and Daniel Dae Kim. This is the adaptation of the South Korean series of the same name. The American version has been broadcast since 2017 in the United States. In France, TF1 is responsible for broadcasting this medical series, carried by Freddie Highmore (Bates Motel, Charlie et la Chocolaterie), Antonia Thomas (Lovesick, Survivor) and Nicholas Gonzalez (American Nightmare 2, Pretty Little Liars).
Synopsis – A doctor with Asperger’s syndrome, Shaun Murphy joined the surgery department of Saint Bonaventure Hospital (San José) as an intern. - Good Doctor season 1 (2017-2018): Shaun Murphy is a surgical intern with Asperger’s Syndrome. He joined the team at Saint Bonaventure Hospital under the mentorship of Dr. Aaron Glassman. But his appointment in the surgery department sows trouble within the hospital, whether with the Board of Directors but also with his medical colleagues.
- good doctor season 2 (2018-2019): Doctor Glassman faces serious health problems and is replaced by Doctor Andrews as head of the hospital. For his part, Shaun tries to improve the way he communicates with his patients but finds himself increasingly isolated.
- good doctor season 3 (2019-2020): Dr. Lim becomes head of the surgery department, and the team is completed by the arrival of Dr. Andrews. Lim and Melendez hide their relationship, while Shaun begins a romantic relationship with Carly but questions his feelings for Lea. Finally, Claire experiences a veritable descent into hell after the death of her mother.
- good doctor season 4 (2020-2021): Saint Bonaventure Hospital is on the front line as the coronavirus epidemic begins in the United States. New resident doctors join the team but will compete with each other for a permanent place in the hospital. Shaun and Lea learn great news that will completely change their life as a couple, and will be confronted with a tragedy.
